Save On Meats, located on 43 West Hastings Street in a very eclectic part of town. My dad, brother and I arrived at Save On Meats at 6:30pm on a Saturday night and it was packed to the rim. We should have known this. My brother rote our names on the white board and we sat down amongst the rest of the people waiting for a free table. The place is one large long room with a bar to one side and booths to the other. There are a few other tables in the back. Right in the entrance area is one table placed in a small corner, that’s where we were seated. We watched people walk past the restaurant as we waited for our food. The restaurant was brightly lit from outside and inside. There are neon lights and signs outside of the restaurant which make it hard not to miss. There were people from all different ages eating that night. There were those hipsters that you see everywhere, the families just wanting a delicious dinner and friends hanging out on a Saturday night. My brother and dad ordered milk shakes, which I thought was crazy on a freezing cold night. I took a sip of both. One was butterscotch and it was delicious. My brother ordered a classic strawberry milk shake which was just as good. The milk shakes were so smooth and had the perfect consistency.

Our waitress brought us our food and we dug in. I ordered the clubhouse because I am a sandwich fanatic. It was stuffed with shredded roast chicken, bacon, lettuce and tomatoes. I also added avocado. As usual my sandwich came with a side of fries. The sandwich was hot and crispy. The flavours were all so perfect together I soon demolished it all. The food was great home cooking and a very good price. What can I say about an awesome sandwich? It was awesome!
